Bring out the Guerrilla in you on World Habitat Day!

The United Nations has designated the first Monday of October every year as World Habitat Day.

The idea is to reflect on the state of our towns and cities and the basic right of all, to adequate shelter. It is also intended to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat.

This year's theme is 'Cities and Climate Change' chosen because of the symbiotic relationship between the two and the challenge this presents in planning urban spaces.

It is a great opportunity to try your hand at Guerrilla Gardening - illicit cultivation of land that would otherwide be neglected.  All around the world Guerrilla Gardeners are improving their neighbourhoods by growing plants which provide shade and absorb CO2.
